I was lucky enough this last weekend to actually have Saturday off from the shop! So I met up with a friend and we walked down our beautiful boardwalk to the Farmers Market! It was a lovely day ~ Sunny with a light breeze, plenty of people and dogs out walking and enjoying the day!
Man Oh Man is our Farmers Market FUN!!!
Live Music! Great Local Food!! And tons of local vendors to curb my shopping needs!!! 🙂
So here is a run down of who & what we saw :
The first thing that caught my eye was all the wonderful flower vendors selling the most colorful bunches of Tulip, Lilly, and Roses wonderfully bundled together! All fresh cut and at a steal of a deal!
Then we moved over to the food vendors!! Thinking about the fantastic smells is enough to make me hungry again!!!! Everything was fresh, and made to order 🙂 Nothing better than munching from booth to booth, and making a list of what we will have to come back and try next time!!! So go hungry because there is something for everyone, no matter what you do or don’t like, you are sure to find something to make your tummy happy!
Next we picked our way from one booth to another : there was hand painted glass ware, handcrafted jewelry, goat cheese being sold my two very nice young ladies who had all the answers to my silly questions. We got to say hello to James Dunbar ( he will be at the market most of the summer! Or you can check out some of his works of art here 🙂 ) His booth was hoppin’ with interested shoppers, and it was great to see his stuff sell as we talked!
Then we had to stop at the cookie booth. . . . a large tent full of wonderful large cookies at super great prices! Needless to say, what we bought from them didn’t have a snowballs chance in hell of making it home!!! Yummy Yum Yum!!! So this may become a regular habit for me . . .
One of the most unique booths that we stopped in has got to be the butterfly earring booth. They take butterfly wings, press them, and turn them into earrings and necklaces. . . I couldn’t decide which one to get so I will be going back to do some more looking!
We then stopped at a local plant nursery and my friend got two lovely plant for her yard, we will stop there again as the woman was very helpful and had some interesting things that I haven’t seen before.
Before we left I had to pick up some goat soap to try out, and was amazed to find out all the different scents they make their soaps into. . . .including (and yes I did get some) Campfire Smoke! But they also come in more practical scents like Clean linen, Jasmine, Eucalyptus, Gardenia(one of my favorites!) and a ton of others. . .they must have had over 35 different scents.
There is something for everyone at our Farmers Market! So take some time out of your busy life and enjoy some great food and some really nice people!
